Q: What are the school hours?
A. 8:00 – 2:45
You may bring students without being charged for extended care between 7:30 and 8:00.
Q: Is After-school available?
A: Yes. Extended care is available on Full-time or Part-time basis during the school year.
Full-time (4+ days/16 days per month) $70/month per student
Part-time (3 or less days/less than 16 days per month) $40/month per student
Additionally, students may participate in Summer and Holiday care through the FWM Learning Center onsite.
Q: How is the tuition paid?
A: Tuition is paid annually, bi-annually or monthly based on 10 monthly payments, made August 1st through May 1st. Tuition can be paid online at FWMChurch.com; click on the FWMCA tab and click the Paypal icon. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
Kindergarten - Eighth Grade Tuition: One Student $2100/year
High School Tuition: One Student $2200/year
Q: Is there a discount for more than one child?
Second Elementary Student $1700/year
Second High School Student $1800/year
Each additional student (any grade) $1500/year
Q: Is Financial Assistance available?
The State of North Carolina offers the NC Opportunity Scholarship Program. For details on this program, please visit the Scholarship website at http://www.ncseaa.edu/Portal_Files/CDG_QuickUserGuide.pdf. Families must apply through the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority website at http://www.ncseaa.edu/OSG.htm.
The State of North Carolina also offers the NC Disabilities Grant Program. The Disabilities Grant Program was created by the North Carolina General Assembly to help parents pay qualified expenses for children with disabilities who attend school in an eligible nonpublic setting. The Disabilities Grant Program is for children who are just starting school, or who are currently attending a public school and change to an eligible school. Q: Are there fees for books?
A: Book fees are based on the number of PACEs necessary for your child to complete their grade level. The Annual Book Fee for 2018-2019 is $225.
Book fees can be paid in one, two, or five payments. Book payments are due 7/15, 8/15, 10/27, 1/19, and 3/23
*The minimum requirement for students in 2nd-12th grade is 12 PACEs per subject. Most students will complete more than that; there will be a fee of $3.00 per additional PACE needed.
Additionally, 11th grade students are required to complete a Computer Literacy course - $65.
Q: What is the 2017-2018 Schedule of Fees for students?
A: Annual Registration fee - $60 per student (there are significant discounts available for preregistration).
Art and Creative Exploration fee - $100 per student per school year that covers art supplies and field trips. This fee can be paid as one payment with the first month payment, or can be paid in 10 monthly payments added to tuition.
Standford 10\Standardized Test Fee - $40 per student 3rd-10th grade due by October 1st.
Graduation Fee - $20 Kindergarten and Eighth Grade; $100 Twelfth Grade
SAT Fee - 11th grade students are required to take the SAT or ACT; the fee is paid directly to the College Board.
Q: Are there fees for new students?
A: There is a One-Time Diagnostic Testing fee of $25 for new students.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Yes. On Wednesdays, students are expected to follow Chapel Dress code. Other days, students follow regular dress code (see Student Handbook).
Chapel Dress Code - Ladies must wear black or khaki skirts/jumpers (no shorts) and a solid colored red, black, or white shirt. Gentlemen must wear black or khaki dress pants (no cargo pants or shorts allowed) and a collared shirt in a solid colored red, black, or white.
Q: Is school lunch available?
A: Children may bring their lunch or purchase a pre-packaged lunch from the school. If a student must charge lunch, please pay the balance weekly. No lunch charges are allowed after 5 days; balance will need to be paid before the student will be allowed to charge lunch or snacks again.
Q: Can my child participate in sports at FWMCA?
A: Yes! If your child is in 4th-12th Grade, your child can participate in Cross Country and Track events. Please contact the coach for details! Also, if your child is at least 8 years old, they are able to participate in the Archery in Schools program at FWMCA. There is a Weight Room available for students meeting requirements. A permission slip must be completed to participate in these sports. Archery Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday and are divided by age.
Each Fall and Spring, eligible students may participate in the Regional Student Conventions, which includes a multitude of Athletic Competitions. FWMCA is proud to have numerous students that have placed at the top of these events, having won the Most Athletic events in the November, 2016 Convention in Brevard, NC.
In addition to these opportunities, the school offers Physical Education, Table Tennis, and daily opportunities for physical activity. A friendly game of basketball or football, a foot race, or just kicking the soccer ball around is a normal occurrence at our school.
Q: Is Driver's Education available?
A: Currently, students may participate in the available Driver's Education at their assigned public School District. Please contact the school for information.
